My vision for the coming year is to be more involved with the G.F.W.C....

On May 19, 2015 Installation and the beginning of my year as President for 2015-2016.The Clubhouse was decorated in its finest by Lorene Strano, President for this special occasion, Laura King, President of Homestead Jr. Woman's Club, was the installing Officer. My vision for the coming year is to be more involved with the G.F.W.C., the Florida Federation and our community. But most importantly make the Homestead Woman's Club better known throughout the community .

It was announced that Darlene Polo-Kramer was our "Woman of the Year." Ann McAllister presented and made the awards to the Scholarship winners David Miller and Daralene Aroco. We are so proud to be able to help these students achieve their goals.

Our Christmas Party was held at the clubhouse which was decorated with all of the Christmas cheer that could be had in sunny Florida. We enjoyed a lovely lunch, desserts and candy sweets. Kim provided a game of getting to know your fellow club member. It is true we all come from different walks of life. Thank you Kim Sizemore, Carmen Otero, and Maria Landolt. Great party ladies! Thank you.

January Homestead Rodeo was another successful year. Thanks to Lorene Strano, Doylene Losner, Meda Jensen, Ruth Perry and Maggie Bates with the help of their fellow club members. They sold drinks and chili which Maggie's prepared her best batch of chili and there was only a tiny bit left. Thank you one and all for another successful Rodeo weekend.

In February, Rotary Club Auction Dinner was held at Harris Field. We cooked and served 474 servings of prime rib, corn on the cob, green beans and potatoes. The double lines of guests were endless and compliments flowed. Chaired by Kim Sizemore, Ruth Perry, and Doylene Losner with help from fellow club members serving.

Good Friday Prayer Breakfast was sponsored by Homestead Kiwanis Club. I was invited to the clubhouse at 4:30 am to assist our famous cooking teams.
